Rubs are spice and/or herb mixtures that can be "rubbed" on meat before it is cooked. Rubs—which can be dry or wet—are an easy way to infuse your meat with flavor. Different rubs, when applied to similar cuts, can result in very different flavors. This can afford you the ability to make the most of sales at the grocery store.

For example, let's say you purchase a large package of pork chops, but only need 4 chops for dinner. By applying different rubs, you can eat the other chops throughout the week without having your family get bored!
